Hero Of The Week

A thread on Free Republic was posted about the Palestine Hotel bombing and the soldier that saved the lives of many as a result of his actions to stop the cement truck that blew up prematurely before it got close to any buildings.
This suggestion was made by one of the Freepers (SugarLand Fan in Washington State) :
"Bush ought to start a hero-of-the-week program. Each week, a military hero would be invited to spend a night in the Lincoln Bedroom, have breakfast with the president, receive their medals in a White House ceremony and tour historic sites in D.C."
That is an excellent idea. The president should honor a hero at least once a month and invite them to the Whitehouse with his or her family to show appreciation for their meritorious act(s). Let’s get a movement going to encourage President Bush to do this.
