I usually celebrate the other Celtic saint’s day (St. David, patron saint of Wales) instead, but since I was coughing up a lung on Saint David’s Day (and since our daffodills hadn’t yet bloomed, anyway–much more attractive than shamrocks, IMO :-)), I passed on celebrations this year. So, I might make a nod toward Patrick, even though he’s the lesser of the two in my estimation. *heh*
Have a safe one.
Oh, yeh. There is another Celtic saint of renown, but I don’t know many folks who make a big deal of his saint’s day (although there’s a certain part of the British Isles that certainly does. ;-))
BTW, David is the only Celtic patron saint who was a native of the land that adopted him as their patron. Even David’s mother (not a patron saint, but well… ) was, IIRC, not a native of Wales, although, as Saint Nunn, she is certainly recalled there with gratitude.
David’s passing words:
