Mike Huckabee Saves Fellow Politician With Heimlich Maneuver
Mike Huckabee successfully performed the Heimlich Maneuver on a fellow politician Saturday in North Carolina.

Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee put the squeeze on a politician at the North Carolina Republican Party convention, but in a good way.
The former Arkansas governor performed the Heimlich maneuver on Robert Pittenger, Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, at a lunch Saturday.
Pittenger said he was laughing when he choked on some food.
“I stood up and the governor came over and did the Heimlich and got the relief,” Pittenger said. He said the food dislodged when Huckabee applied the trademark Heimlich squeeze to the midsection.
Pittenger added, “In fact he called me in the car as I was driving home to make sure I was OK.”

Thank goodness! Now if McCain will just select Huckabee as his VP and we choke on some food, he can be our National Heimilicher!

I was at this luncheon and the calm but quick way that Governor Huckabee responded to fellow politician Robert Pittenger’s distress was amazing!! Huckabee was sitting 5 or 6 seats away, when Pittenger stood and couldn’t get his breath at all. People were slapping his back (the worse thing to do). Huckabee quickly stepped and an applied the Heimlich 3 or 4 times until it worked!!!! Pittenger was able to walk away with no medical assistance!! Huckabee just walked back to his seat and acted as if he had done nothing special!!! The speech that followed was dynamite! He certainly did Senator McCain (and the Republican party ) proud.

I was at the luncheon as well with Linda and Sharon. This was amazing to watch!! Mike did it in such a humble way, and just like he stated on Fox News the other morning, without even thinking. Just another great credential to his many for President (or VP) to add to the list!!!
