Robert Wexler the non-Floridian who represents the South Florida district that includes Delray Beach has decided to lease an apartment in the congressional district that he claims to represent rather than declaring residency at the home of his in-laws. Wexler actually lives in in Potomac, Md where his children attend school.
Wexler is a phony and just to the left of Karl Marx in his ideology.
His constituents should vote him out of office and banish him to Maryland where he seems to prefer to live.
From the Palm Beach Post:
Stung by claims that he doesn’t really live in Florida, Democratic U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler said today that he will lease an apartment in his congressional district rather than declaring residency at the home of his in-laws.
Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly last week accused Wexler of being a bogus Floridian. The O’Reilly Factor, acting on research by Wexler’s Republican challenger, noted that Wexler owns a home in Potomac, Md., and enrolls his children in school there. Wexler is registered to vote at the Delray Beach address of his wife’s parents.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler says he will lease an apartment in his congressional district rather than declaring residency at the home of his in-laws.
Video Fox News video: Wexler in Maryland
Shortly after he was elected in 1996, Wexler sold his Palm Beach County home and moved his family to the Washington, D.C., area, saying that was the best way for him to spend time with his children.
In a statement released by his office this afternoon, Wexler again defended his Florida residency but said he didn’t want the issue to be a distraction.
“My wife, Laurie, and I have decided to lease a residence of our own in Palm Beach County,” Wexler’s statement says.
“Although I am confident that I have represented my district as well as anybody possibly could, I have heard the concerns of some of my constituents and do not want this issue to distract from my advocacy of the important issues facing our community and country.”
Wexler chief of staff Eric Johnson said the congressman is looking at a three-bedroom apartment in the Boynton Beach-Delray Beach area and could sign a lease as soon as next week.
…
I have a feeling Wexler will be in a hard fought battle for his seat this year.

If BO and his minions have taught us anything during the campaign, it is this. No lesson can be learned from the prior conduct of a country, or a man, that it cannot be scrubbed for the sake of political expedience.

It won’t make any difference. His base of support are Jewish seniors who have never voted for a Republican. He and local politicians pander to them. He can do or say pretty much what he wants. I live in his district and have called to express my feelings about his call for the President’s impeachment and his anti-drilling position. I get a polite “thank you” and know my comments are dismissed. Congressmen like him make gerrymandering look attractive.

Congressman Robert Wexler, Democrat, Florida, has been caught in violation of . . . residency and citizenship requirements? And that’s for starters!
It appears that the perpetually strident and indignant Representative Wexler neither owns a residence nor rents a residence in his Florida district. The Florida address he uses belongs to his in-laws, who live in a 55 year-old plus development. As a result he does not pay any property taxes in Florida. Additionally, Florida does not have an income tax, so Wexler does not pay Florida income taxes.
Robert Wexler does own a home in Rockville, Maryland. The only house he owns. He has paid property taxes on this property. Maryland law states that individuals become a resident of Maryland if a citizen owns, rents, or leases a primary residence for more than six months. As Wexler and family have owned the residence since 1997 and own no other residence, according to Maryland law Wexler is a resident of Maryland not Florida. Wexler listed the Maryland residence as his primary residence from1997 to 2004, when he listed his in-law’s residence as his primary residence.
Further, Maryland law states that a resident must obtain a Maryland drivers license within 60 days of becoming a resident. Wexler retains his Florida drivers’ license, violating Maryland law.
If Wexler is claiming Florida citizenship, is he evading Maryland income taxes? And for how many years? Has Wexler voted in Maryland, in addition to Florida?
Pursuant to Maryland law it appears Wexler is a resident of Maryland. If so, Wexler cannot be a Congressman representing Florida. The U.S. Constitution requires Representatives to be a citizen of the United States for seven years and a resident of his State at time of election. Other than Wexler’s first election to the House, Wexler has violated the Constitutional requirements on subsequent elections.
It is clear that Congress cannot police itself. In the eyes of many, Congress is nothing less than an organized criminal cartel working out of Washington.
There is only one answer: establish an Independent Ethics Panel. This panel can neither be made up of current or past members of Congress nor can the current Congress be involved in its creation and staffing. The Panel cannot consist of Washington insiders or lawyers (this is an ethics panel dealing in right wrong, not a legal proceeding subject to the chicanery of lawyers).
Only a truly Independent Ethics Panel can work. Congress is broken. It needs to reform.

FRAUD…FRAUD…INSIDER…FRAUD…ARROGANT…WEXLER EPITOMIZES WHAT IS WRONG WITH DC…Doesn’t even live in his district. Perfect example of why every one of the bums need to be kicked out of office and term limits put in.

He proves that Republicans don’t have a lock on unethical conduct. Does Wexler really think he can live in MD while supposedly representing a district in FL?
He is just like Reid and Pelosi…arrogant, out of touch and a complete phony. In other words, a perfect Democrat.
