A whole string of “John is right” comments don’t mean much when they’re always cut short before the big “BUT” comes out.

I’m curious how John McBush approved of that ad while the debate was still ongoing.

  2. Col.Smeag Says:

    PWNED

  3. larrys Says:

Funny how the McCain campaigners didn’t include these other moments when Obama did NOT suggest McCain was right:

“So John, you like to pretend like the war started in 2007. You talk about the “surge,” the war started in 2003. At the time, when the war started, you said it was going to be quick and easy. You said you knew where the weapons of mass destruction were — and YOU WERE WRONG. You said we were going to be greeted as liberators — YOU WERE WRONG. You said that there was no history of violence between Shi’a and Sunni, and YOU WERE WRONG.”

  4. Peter from Dover NH Says:

McCain hit it out. My favorite was McCain “I don’t have a seal yet..”

McCain shows the goods, the substance.

  5. diogenes Says:

Interesting poll by CBS among undecided independents:
40% thought Obama “won”, 38% thought it was a draw, and 22% thought McBush “won”.

Guess maybe all the snide little asides like the “seal” crack maybe went over well with the diehard McBushies, but didn’t play nearly so well with the undecided voters.

    Presidential Rumble #1…

    Obama-presence…McCain-substance…

OUTSTANDING!  I sat in on Gateway Pundit and Lets Get This Right “chats”… in between sips of Schlitz.  My obvious bias precludes me from attempting any sort of analysis for now.  Gotta …

  8. TigerLady Says:

McCain is a doer and Obama is an idle talker. Where exactly is his experience? He lied about what he said about meeting without conditions. Even CNN (which is in the bag for Obama) showed his comment from the previous debate that said, “I Would” without any other comment after. Now he wants to NUANCE the answer. Experience did matter in this debate. Also, we must win in Iraq inorder to be successful in Afganistan, not leave Iraq unsteady and move on to Afganistan. Obama is wrong on this issue and all you have to do is look what Generals in the field have said on this issue.

    larrys–

I can’t believe I’m answering someone who says “pretend like,” but we WERE greeted as liberators.

    None so blind. . .

  10. Col.Smeag Says:

Larry tell David Alxerod you need to be fired as an Obot blog stalker and demoted back down to crowd fainter. Barry dodges all the questions unless Jim pressed him on them. McCain had a blast hew was in his groove.

  11. David Schultz Says:

Amazing!! Someone who can compliment someone else. Someone who isn’t full of pride. I like that Obama can agree. We need someone WHO CAN AGREE with the other side after 8 years of bickering.

Too bad the video doesn’t show the fact that John couldn’t look Barry in the eyes… John snickered like a jerk and laughed at Obama. What a jerk!!

Obama looked VERY calm and presidential.

  12. angie Says:

Obama lacks class, he kept calling Senator McCain, John. How dare he talk down to McCain like that? The way Obama interupted him everytime it was McCains turn to rebut just showed how Obama thinks it’s all about him! Get the Greenhorn a job selling cars!!

  13. rebecca Says:

wow,as a undecided Democrat,I had to really take a good long look at both candidates.Obama came off as young and inexperienced,he kept agreeing with every thing McCain said. McCain on the other hand did look in control of the situation, and one could see that he does have experience and leadership qualities. So I think this Democrat will be voting for McCain.

  14. Navigator7 Says:

My favorite quote from the debate was from Obama:
“Uhh, errr, ta, ahhhhhh, uhhh, errrr, uhhh, uhhh.”

If elected, I hope he follows through.

  15. caron Says:

navigator7, rebecca, angie, and the rest of you ignoramuses,

What debate were you looking at? You must have been high on methamphetamine and/or mind-altering drugs.

McCain continued to do what he does best—-TELL LIES.
He lied about Senator Obama’s tax proposal; stating that people making 42,000 dollars would see their taxes raised—the ceiling will be 250,000 dollars.

McCain lied about being a maverick and a reformer—Keating 5, consistent deregulator. He lied about Kissinger’s advice concerning sitting down with leaders of certain countries without preconditions—kept insisting Senator Obama was talking about presidents; when he was not.

I would be writing for days to try to capture and articulate ALL THE LIES MCCAIN TOLD.

McCain was unprofessional, not civil, and disrespectful to Senator Obama and the American people. He spoke condescendingly to Senator Obama; repeatedly interrupted him; wouldn’t shut up when his time was up; wouldn’t look at Senator Obama; rolled his eyes; huffed and puffed; frowned and made other stupid and evil faces; was crude and immature.

To top it off, McCain was not answering the questions that were asked; and telling all these inane stories, trying to elicit sympathy. He pulled his POW card out, AGAIN.

McCain is a repeat adulterer, a gonif, and a pathological liar. THIS IS WHO SOME OF YOU WANT TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! BUSH III!

  16. NoBama Says:

caron - I think you’re the one high on drugs - I watched the debate, too, and McCain won, hands down. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid, maybe your head will clear.

B.O. underperformed, as if he didn’t do quite enough cramming for the ‘exam’ and McCain was in his element - calm, assured, in control.

I think B.O. was unnerved because McCain wouldn’t look him in the eye - probably something McCain learned while in the North Vietnamese prison camp.

Can’t wait until round 2 in two weeks! McCain was definitely more presidential.

  17. gene Says:

I didn’t see the debate as i was working. I, of course, have seen and heard a few things from the bulk of it. Obama apparently would look at John, john wouldn’t look at Obama. Barack called John by his first name, how did McCain refer to Barack? Obama listened while John talked, John scowled and made faces. Barack acknowledge when he was in agreement with John, did McCain ever concede common ground? Obama said he would talk to leaders of other countries, friendly or otherwise, John said he wouldn’t talk to leaders of unfriendly countries. The president has to deal with leaders of nations, all over the globe, leaders that love us and leaders that think otherwise. He has to deal with powerful and weak countries that agree with us or disagree with us. Hopefully, the next president will resolve global affairs peacefully rather than with war. Who would you think is the better choice?

  18. Katie Says:

Truly a lame ad. It’s like, “Look Obama is actually trying to find points of agreement snark snark!”

I don’t think the old man did himself any favors by acting so cranky and disrespecting his opponent. He refused to look him in the eye not even ONCE which doesn’t come across as very “straight talky.”

In my house we all were like YEOW when Obama brought up the bomb bomb bomb Iran song! That was real presidential.

  19. Katie Says:

I think they should include a clip of McGrump snarling “horseshit” just to highlight the contrast between an intelligent, reasonable, respectful gentleman and a cranky old fool

  21. Navigator7 Says:

It must be a requirement as a liberal to be inept at judging character.

Obama was choking all night long. If the audience were dogs, they would all have bitten him from the fear pouring off the man.

I wouldn’t buy a car, a house, engage in business, or involve Obama in any of the meaningful things I do in my life.

Why on Earth would I elect an anti-American who knows nothing but wealth redistribution and seek to punish successful American?

Clinton, the First Black President, put teeth into the dreary Community Reinvestment Act hatched by Carter in 1977.
Liberal ideology … The idea that government must help….. gave us this most recent financial collapse.

Obama is wired to create the exact same calamity. It is preordained.

Obama didn’t cause the current financial crisis. However, if elected he just may cause America’s last financial crisis!

  22. Trish Says:

    Katie–
Yes, by all means, if you can find a clip of McCain snarling, “horseshit,” by all means, please use it. Unfortunately for you, you’ll have to search the four corners of the earth to find one. The clip to which you linked clearly shows McCain saying, “Of course not.”

  23. Jan Says:

The ignorance of some of these comments just reaffirms just how much the media has poisoned the people of this country. People giving points to Obama because of his appearance and posture. For looking at McCain when talking. Give me a break!! You think these are important for the President?? Obama wants to increase spending when spending needs to be cut. He doesn’t have the experience we need in these times of crisis. He won’t have his teleprompter when meeting with world leaders. Do you really want to put America in the hands of a puppet?
