Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s last name is spelled “Osama” on hundreds of absentee ballots mailed out this week to voters in Rensselaer County.
The misspelling, which elections officials on both sides of the aisle insist was simply a typo, is causing embarrassment for the county.
”No question this is an honest mistake innocently done,” said Edward McDonough, the Democratic commissioner. ”We catch almost everything.”
”This was a typo,” said Republican Commissioner Larry Bugbee. ”We have three different staff members who proof these things and somehow the typo got by us.”
Officials say the flawed ballots were sent to approximately 300 voters. On row 1A Barack Obama’s name is spelled Barack Osama.
Is it a Freudian slip, intentional act or a mistake? Voters are sure to have opinions, and one pol pointed out that the letters ’s’ and ‘b’ are not exactly keyboard neighbors.

I actually love this Political Suicide strategy of the GOP. Anybody tabling or volunteering for Obama or the Dems can direct people here or to Free Republic and have voters ask themselves: if you have immigrant parents, or a “funny name” do you think these Republicans will ever think you’re “one of them?” Do you think they have any respect for you at all? Look at all Obama has accomplished in his life - graduated top of his class in Harvard, US Senator, nothing he can do will stop him from being cast as “not like us.”
I notice that the GOP has definitely put what used to be the “#1 issue” of immigration on the backburner knowing they need latino votes in the West, but what they don’t realize is the way they treat Obama is helping him with that fastest growing demographic, which can tend to be socially conservative.
The GOP is SO stuck and btw they can thank Reagan for his massive amnesty program in the 80’s for the new generation of US-born latinos in the Western states.

The North Koreans did not have ANY weapons grade nuke technology untill Bill Clinton gave it to them. Did you ever think abou tlooking up your facts. It takes about 10-15 years to enrich enough uramnium for weapons gradetesting. Bill Clinton gave them the technology to do so.
Then Al Gore tried to talk his way out of the fiasco in the 2000 debates but “W” walked all over him like the red carpet at the oscars.

As a parallel to the Korean debacle, I remember back in the 1990’s shaking my head at hearing that we were giving missile technology to the Chinese. I was giving a friend of mine that is an engineer for one of the huge defense contractors a hard time about giving away national secrets to the Chinese. He said they didn’t have a choice. They were ordered by their Commander-in-Chief, President Clinton, to give the technology to them.
In the blame-America-first, global citizenship, destroy national sovereignty, America is imperialist, man is basically good theology of the LEFT, having America give up her greatness and elevate those dictators less fortunate than us, sorta kinda makes sense. OK, so it doesn’t make sense. But it is consistent with the whole body of irrational thought of the LEFT.
