A South Wales couples’ safety was compromised by Cable News Network, better known as CNN, during the standoff at Mumbai. The terrorists that were looking for westerners were watching CNN during the attacks. The news network alerted the terrorists to their location.
Lynne and Kenneth Shaw, of Penarth, warned that terrorists were listening in to the media to pinpoint Western victims.
Mrs Shaw claimed the American cable TV channel had broadcast details of where they were at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
She has appealed to the media to be careful with the information it broadcasts because safety could be compromised and lives lost.
The couple flew back into Heathrow yesterday morning on a flight arranged by the British Consulate.
Mrs Shaw had been forced to hide under a table as terrorists stormed the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
She and her husband were later rescued by Gurkhas and taken straight to the Australian Embassy for safety.
The couple were at the end of a month-long visit to India and were staying in Mumbai for a few days before heading back to the UK.
From her home in Penarth yesterday, Mrs Shaw said: “We have been asked by the British terror police not to talk to the press.
“But the reason I would not want to talk to anyone is because our safety was actually compromised by CNN, which broadcast where we were.
“The terrorists were watching CNN and they came down from where they were in a lift after hearing about us on television. For that reason I would appeal to the media to be very careful about what they broadcast.
“When we left Mumbai there were still around 100 people trapped there.”
She added: “People talk to one another on mobile phones and that gets broadcast and the terrorists knew from that.”

Holy Cow!
It’s gone from bad to worst!
The US ISM manufacturing index falled to 36.2%, the lowest in nearly 27 years.
http://www.ism.ws/
The worst since May 1982!
The Bush/Republican administration leaves office in 59 days with the nation’s manufacturing in freefall, output collapsing and now the ISM report sees no prospect for near-term improvement.
Lesson learned? Don’t let a Republican (neo) Conservative anywhere near the nation’s economic leadership ever again.
At least Bush, Paulson & Cox where able to bail out most of their Wall Street buddies in time…….
^_^
Psygone: “Lesson learned? Don’t let a Republican (neo) Conservative anywhere near the nation’s economic leadership ever again.”
Instead, we need someone who will punish companies that “retain their earnings overseas”,
“end the incentive for companies to ship jobs overseas”,
redefining income “including clarifying the economic substance doctrine and increasing reporting of capital gains to close the tax gap”,
“repealing special expensing rules, foreign tax credit benefits, and manufacturing deductions”,
“taxing carried interest as ordinary income, and closing the CEO loophole”,
“enact a windfall profits tax”,
forcing near bankrupt auto industry to produce vehicles high MPG, Hybrid, low carbon standards (including mandatory number of hyper expensive short range plug-in vehicles,
taking from oil companies their off-shore leases because they are not producing oil on each of them concurrently,
forcing businesses and individuals to buy incredibly expensive alternative energy (10% by 2012, 25% by 2025), and
saddle businesses with a cap & trade policy to reduce greenhouse gases.
Surely by placing the firm boot of taxation, fairness, compliance, regulation, & Utopian agendas on the weakened neck of the manufacturing community is precisely what we need to help the US ISM manufacturing index soar to new heights. Can I have a Black Liberation Theology amen?
How about that CNN? The drive-bys never change. That Geraldo on FOX in Afghanistan drew out a map in the dirt giving away his & the military’s position on live TV. These people are either clueless or they hate everything good, right, decent, & successful. But they are consistent.
[ . How about that CNN? ..]
Wrong question.
———
Here’s the right question.
Exactly what did Michelle Malkin and stuckon-stupid.com ‘conveniently’ forget with their so-called ‘outrage’ against CNN?
The article comes from, walesonline.co.uk
Repugs, dropped the last 3 paragraph…..heh heh heh
….and here it is….
[ A spokesman for CNN, said: “CNN has received no complaint from any individual regarding our coverage and their safety. We take such matters very seriously.
“We had CNN and Turner Broadcasting employees staying trapped at the Taj hotel during the attacks, and were vigilant about anything we broadcast that could compromise the safety of those inside.
“We are not aware of the allegedly compromising broadcast, but even in the absence of key details such as when and where, we will continue to check.”..]

[ Accurate, truthful reports from couriers assures the general his armies certain victory. ]
Sun Tzu – the ‘Art of War’
^_^
CNN: “We are not aware of the allegedly compromising broadcast…” describing on air where potential victims were would help a band of terrorist searching for said victims, just because every room had a TV in it and our live descriptions would be visible to anyone watching them, including terrorist whose only information about the response to their heinous crimes would be on those TVs.
Yup. Clueless. There are some things you think would be obvious to even the most casual observer. And maybe it was.
Ricardo,Notice the Dow’s reaction to soeboro’s appointments today ? Down 650 +. And just think, thats just in anticipation

HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE have to laugh at psy he’s all excited that Bush will be blamed for this eco mess were in. Maybe so, but Bush still had growing economy up until July of this year the DOW topping out at over 14k (Dang psy there goes those facts getting in the way again).
Could you tell us how a “Community Organizer and an Editor of the Harvard “watchamacallit” would know how to fix the economy. He has a Law degree not an MBA. That’s like sending a plumber to fix the tax problems in America…oh wait the Plumber gets results.:D
***Thanks for the laugh George****
The DOW dropped today for a couple reasons
- Market leaders came out today and said we’re officially in a recession.
-Big three($25 Billion), Major Metropolitan area and California, sniffing around for a hand out.
- Janet “I shave twice a day”Napolitano appointed to HLS Sec…ROFLOL… Barry says”She will be a leader who can reform a sprawling department while safeguarding our homeland.” Arizona is facing a $1.2 Billion deficit thanks to her spending. Man can Barry pick ‘em…but please take her gives us another Republican Governor. YEAH Jan Brewer.
NOW THAT A TASTY CHANGE SANDWHICH
As for CNN they’re not the first to blow the whistle in situations like this
-Geraldo is a good example
-in the 1989 Panamanian Conflict the nightly news was reporting as Airborne troops lifted off head for Panama. Tipped off by the news Manuel Norega was able to make a run to the Vatican. I believe it was Dan ” I got a Fax” Rather but I will check.
Although if it wasn’t for free speech the press would never be able to say anything stupid either.
It’s not a matter ‘blame’, its a of timing.
Repugs actually thought they’d get away with it – up until last September that is.
Before that their mantra was:
[ the economy is strong - the fundamentals sound ]
Not so says the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).
The catastrophic Bush Recession, the worst economy since 1929 actually started in December of 2007. 11 months before the elections and 6 months before anyone was nominated.
http://wwwdev.nber.org/cycles/dec2008.html
The Bush Recession will be deeper, and last longer than anyone ever imagined.
The Iraq invasion, incompetance, de-regulation and out-of-control deficit spending caused the current expansion to last only 73 months.
Contrast that to:
The Clinton (D) Administration which had an expansion of 120 month…..which lasted until the current Bushie Admin came to power.
Ideology over common sense, especially the (neo) Conservative one has forced the nation to pay dearly when letting Repugs rule and manage the economy.
^_^
PSYGONE: “The Clinton (D) Administration which had an expansion of 120 month…..which lasted until the current Bushie Admin came to power.”
Be truthful Psy. The dot com and stock market peaked June of 2000. It continued straight down through the election, through Al Gore’s attempt to steal the election, through the inauguration, through 9/11, until the tax cuts stimulus got it back on track. It wasn’t all Clinton’s fault and it wasn’t any of Bush’s fault.
The current recession is part Bush’s fault (outrageous spending), part Dems fault (the Financials market, spending), part demographic variances, part Fed monetary policy putting the brakes on when the economy is already slowing.
Regardless of which sock puppet you want to hold up and say this is our bad guy, the real lesson to learn hear is:
What government touches it messes up.
Unlimited government messes up exponentially.
There are no answers from each party that proposes non-Constitutionally limited government.
Bush was a big government Republican.
Obama is a big government Democrat.
What we have had is what we will get – more big government. Our fear is because this is a man who had hung out with Marxist, now espouses Marxist views, will implement Marxist programs.
Psygone, Can you tell me why we should welcome a Marxist government?
[ truthful ]…..

What happened psy I thought Barry was going to rob the rich and pay the poor (AKA Big 3) with oil money????? Is he in the hip pocket of the oil companies??? Will Barry be able to justify letting them off slick free???? Will Barry be able to get support from the earth first global warming geeks???? Will Barry ever give as much to the poor as he did to Michelle?????? Maybe he should consult with Joe Biden???
Sorry needed a little comic relief there at the end.
Help a starving child in America give them CHANGE?
I thought Marxist were the workers people. This millionaire who speaks with arrogance of his of being at one with the common man buys his wife $30K of bling with his government paycheck or his self aggrandizement books? All the while, multi-millionaire CEO’s of private companies are expected to drive cramped hybrid Democrat-mobiles to hypocritically show humbleness and win the Senates Democrat favor?
Psygone is right. It’s time for the popcorn & soda pop.
[ Clinton peak - Bush Peak ]….heh heh heh……
Next time, before running for any elections, Repugs really should take a course in Economics 101.
Rapidly rising unemployment, falling GDP, crashing 401Ks and retirement funds, lower productivity, the worst financial/credit conditions since WW II -
The word ‘Peak’ hasn’t helped the Great Bush Recession of 2008 has it.
———
[ multi-millionaire CEO’s of private companies ]
When Repugs come begging on their knees to Congress for bailout money because of their own self-inflicted mismanagement, the American Taxpayer can tell them to do anything.
It’s a free country, no one is forcing them to beg.

Psycho,At which indoctrination center did the peanut farmer obtain the skills and knowledge he needed to destroy the economy in “79 ? Oh, that’s Right I forgot, neither he ,nor his socialistic soeboroistic, choke hold ever happened, did it ?Couldn’t have ! Not once have the dims here acknowledged
it !!!!
So tell us psy, what will Barry do to turn around this economy? Raise taxes? Give out more money to corporations? Tighten restrictions on oil drilling? Bring back the Deth tax? Exactly what will he do to fix things?
Here’s the Answer:NOTHING
CHANGE your story it isn’t working.
[ turn around this economy? ]
For starters – how ’bout *NOT* invading another country based on shady intel and wasting a $Trillion on fake presences……
…..as in, “Mushroom Cloud” (heh heh heh….) from a then National Security Adviser that never served a minute in the military.
4,250 dead, another 20,000 wounded, gutting the Armed Forces and $Billions stolen by contractors won’t happen under the watch of Marine General James L. Jones (ret.) & soon to be NSA to President Obama.
^_^
Really he’s already said he was going to escalate things in Afghanastan. For all your drivel you spew you fail to realize that the war and government spending had no direct effect on the economy. The real drive to this crash was the housing market.
http://practicalsmallbusiness.info/recession/what-caused-the-2008-recession/
Anyone can CHANGE psy it your turn now.
Is that it? A personal opinion in a blog and it’s Gospel ?
How nice…..and to think that [ everyone has one ]
The comments that followed were far more interesting.

So typical of Repugs, they use to value “accountability” — now they spend all their time blaming something else or, somebody else.

Ricardo,
Do you think Barry is going to “Kick the Tires and Light the Fires” and go after the Paks? Or do you think Hillary will be going over to Pakistan to dodge the sniper fire and make the do what we tell them to?
FILIBUSTER it’s the NEW DEAL
Col.Smeag, right now I’m in a flux. There are times in my life when I have gone through paradigm shifts in perspective. Obviously when I became a Christian, when I realized that all abortion was murder, when I realized that evolution was a hoax, etc. I am going through one of those times right now. So the ripples of the shift are only now reverberating through my world perspective. That having been said……
The big O is a junior Senator. Although his record is unquestionably Marxist, “his youth and inexperience” plus his Clinton cabinet point to a man who is not going to change (right now) to anything different than the previous Presidents, Bush, Clinton, etc. on foreign affairs. He knows too little not to grab the reigns from Bush and stay the course for some period of time. He’s too scared. He had little idea what he was talking about during the election and he has undergone a tremendous education in the last 3 weeks, and even longer as Bush brought him in to info/decision fold on certain subjects.
But Obama is “clean and articulate”, and we know that that is CHANGE. Not just CHANGE, but CHANGE we can HOPE in.
If he tries to withdraw the troops, a major stateside attack will occur. The terrorist are looking for maximum humiliation. No President likes that. The big O will have to respond. Given the current military efforts in Iraq & Afghanistan, the trail will inevitably lead back to Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, or less likely, Syria. Look for a marine incident like the sinking of a ocean liner or military ship.
With the big O at the helm and loving the power, he will react, and troops, war & chaos will continue on in that region. There is always chaos in that region. Some have called that whole area Chaostan.
But why did you ask about Barry since Biden will be our president?
[ I’m in a flux ]
