While the Pres-elect is buying $30,000 worth of bling for his wife Colorado State Troopers are still waiting for their compensation for working the Democrat Convention in August. The troopers are owed over $150,000 for the overtime they worked for the Obama spectacle.
Colorado state troopers say it’s been more than three months since the Democratic National Convention and they have yet to get compensated for their overtime.
The economy is bad and the holiday season is here and the extra money or time off that some troopers counted on has yet to be approved.
There seem to be a lot of factors of work in the hold up, including an extraordinary event, troopers were used from around the state, and asking federal government to foot the bill.
“Are a lot of the troopers wondering, ‘Where is the money?” CBS4 investigator Rick Sallinger asked Jeremy Gudday with the Troopers Association.
“I think that’s a fair question for our members and I think that’s a question that people have been concerned about,” Gudday responded. “Given the DNC was in August and here we are coming into December.”
The State Patrol says federal funds will cover the more than $150,000 involved.
“Every member of the organization that worked the event is going to be compensated,” Sgt. John Hahn with the State Patrol said. “Either monetarily or they are going to be compensated with time.”
More than 300 troopers from around the state are affected. That includes anyone of them who worked more than 160 hours over a 28-day period. They are entitled to time-and-a-half pay, or time-and-a-half compensatory time. They don’t get a choice which one the will receive.
Maybe Barack H. Obama should forget the $30,000 Luxury for Michelle and contribute to the Colorado State Troopers wages.

I don’t personally know one way or the other, other than what I read here. But I can read, and I can read what it says, and what it doesn’t say. The article cited never says that the DNC hired the troopers, as you claim, but it does say that the compensation would be paid by federal funds. And, as little as he wants to be, George W is still in charge of the executive branch… although he’d probably like to bail out before Christmas, if only Obama would let him!

Why all they said they needed to do was to raise taxes, spread the wealth,get out of Iraq and treat everyone nice in the world. The big O changed his mind on the surge….sort of. Not quite man enough to admit certain things where he was wrong.
The big O changed his mind about punishing Americans by withdrawing the Bush tax cuts early. Instead, his version of a tax cut is leaving the Bush tax cuts in till they normally expire.
The big O is now turning a bit timid about immediately implementing his nationalized Health plan. Now, if we believe his election rhetoric that it will save each family $2500/year, why would we want to wait? Maybe it doesn’t reduce medical costs by $2500/year. Maybe it only shifts the medical cost from privately paid to government paid health care. If this is so, then the average tax increase for this CHANGE is $2500/family/year. Given that any time money is first filtered through the governments hands there is a loss, then the cost for reducing our health care costs by $2500, might come with a price tag of $3500 or so. If it was a net wash or actually did save money, then the big O should not delay this socialism component. Why is he contemplating a slow or delayed implementation of cost savings?!?
